Utah Titans One Of The Top Teams
At Pump Easter Tourney--(April 8, 1999)

Garner Meads (6'-8" Jr. F) from Brighton High School in Utah was going to be the main attraction playing for the Utah Titans at the adidas Double Pump Easter Tournament starting tomorrow, but will reportedly not play due to a wrist injury suffered last week according to Phil Bryant who runs the tournament. He said he was notified that Meads will not be accompanying the Titans due to the injury, which should make coach Rick Majerus, who definitely covets Meads, one of the top juniors in the country, as one of his own.

The Titans will still be formidable, and will feature Marc Jackson (6'-1" Jr. PG) from Olympus High, a very smart and capable point,  as well as Jared Jenseon (6'-9" So. F/C) from Fremont.  Others on the team include Marc Hansen (6'-1" Jr. ), Christian Hall (6'-5" Jr. F), Cameron Wood (6'-2" Jr. SG), Danny Young (6'-0" So. G), Blake Larsen (6'-0" So. G), Craig Walton (6'-1" So. G), Garrett Gregson (6'-6" Jr. F), Lance Wallin 6'-5" So. F) and Nate Harris (6'-4" So. F).   The Titans are scheduled to play Pump N Run II at 3:15 p.m. tomorrow, which will have Errick (6'-2" So. PG) and Derrick Craven (6'-2" So. SG) from Bishop Montgomery, David Gale (5'-11" Fr. PG) from Buckley in Sherman Oaks, Montel Duhon (6'-6" Jr. SG/SF) from Venice, Cody Pearson (6'-3" So. SG/PG) from Sherman Oaks Notre Dame, Baker Dunleavy (6'-1" So. G)--brother of Mike Dunleavy, Jr., McDonald's All-American and Duke signee--, Steve Brown (6'-5" Jr. SG/SF) from Venice, and a couple of other surprise players.   Scott Borchart (6'-9" So. F) from Chaminade confirmed last night that he will not play, nursing an ankle injury which he doesn't want to jeopardize his trip to France next month for the Douai Nike Junior World games.
