adidas Rockfish Spring League (RSL)
Final Weekend Schedules--(April 7, 1999)

This weekend marks the final week of the Rockfish Spring League competition, and it will feature a series of playoff games leading up to a championship game which will be played Sunday, as well as a series of All-Star games also on Sunday.  This is an NCAA Certified Event (which means that college coaches can be there, and they will be out in force this weekend) conducted during an open evaluation period.  The games are played at Los Angeles City College, located on Vermont Avenue, just north of the Hollywood (101) Freeway.  Lots of teams who competed during the regular league won't be there this weekend (notably BWBA and Pump) due to conflicts in scheduling for the Double Pump Easter Classic, but as usual, we'd expect to see many of the same players at both events.  IEBP and Inland are both scheduled to play in each event, and there will be several Rockfish team players (i.e. Orcas, Hammerheads, Tiger Sharks and Marlins) who will also compete on various teams also competing at the Pump event.  Of course the one big advantage of the RSL is that there's just one game going on at a time, and it's a bit more conducive to watching players.   Having said that, this will be a very exciting weekend of basketball, and last year, the playoff weekend had more than 60 college coaches visiting from all over the country.  We'd expect a huge influx as well, if for no other reason than that it's a short drive from Dominguez Hills to LACC and there will be lots of coaches who will want to see both events.
