April 24th adidas-Double Pump California
All-Star Classic Set--(April 2, 1999)

We just got off the phone with David Pump, one half of Double Pump, who tells us that the rosters for the Boys' All-California All-Star Classic are shaping up very nicely.  The adidas Double Pump California All-Star Classic will take place on April 24, 1999 at Cal State Dominguez Hills, and will feature an two All-California All-Star games, a boys game, which will feature players from Northern California and from SoCal.  We don't have the details of the girls rosters (see below), or the times of the game yet, but we do know quite a few of the boys' players who have committed to play.

Here's a partial list:

Gilbert Arenas (6'-4" Sr. SG) Grant High School (Arizona)
Rafael Berumen (6'-9" Sr. PF/C) Simi Valley HS (New Mexico)

Brian Wethers (6'-4" Sr. SG/SF) Murrieta Valley (Cal)
Bo Segeberg (6-10" Sr. PF/C) Serrano, Wrightwood (Cal State Sacramento)

There will probably be some additional player committments as the game gets closer, but this is quite a strong crowd already.  The coaches of the two teams wil be Harvey Kitani of Fairfax and Chris Huber of El Cerrito.

Girls players who are committed to play are Allison Box (Bishop Amat), Jessica Cheeks (Narbonne), Lindsey Davidson (Brea Olinda), Allison Gerber (Esperanza), Damaris Hinojosa (Moorpark), Kate Ides (Brea Olinda), Natalie Kelly (Peninsula), Portia Mitchell (Narbonne), Lauren Okayama (Diamond Bar), Sharonnir Spencer (Dominguez), Charlotte Washington (Inglewood), and Shannon Wosman (Bishop Amat). There are quite a few others who we don't know about (the Pumps do, but we don't) and as soon as we find out we'll let everyone in on it).

These will be two really fun games, featuring some terrific players, really big-time talent, and a great chance to see many players who will be playing in the Pac-10, Big West, Big-12 with many of the best big-time programs.   Don't miss it.

See you there.
