Marlon Parmer Will Wait To
Announce Until April 29--(April 18, 1999)

Marlon Parmer (6'-3" Sr. PG) from Verbum Dei, one of the most highly sought after point guards was back in town today at the Dada Classic playing for the U.S. All-Stars squad against the West-All Star team.  We spent some time with Marlon before the game, and he told us that he really enjoyed his visit to Michigan, and that right now, it's still down to three schools:  USC, UNLV and Michigan.  We asked Marlon if he had any clear preferences, and he said "No, I really like all the schools so far. I had a great time at Michigan this weekend, and I am definitely considering going there.  I also like UNLV and USC is still a school I am considering."   Marlon then told us, "I'm going to wait to make an announcment until April 29. I'll make my selection at the WSS Scholastic Hoops Jam Banquet."

For those who don't know, the WSS (Warehouse Shoe Sale) Scholastic Hoops Jam is yet another All-Star game, but this one has the same format that was originally used by the organizers of the Dada three years ago in what might have been their best game ever:  The Southern Section will play the City Section, in both boys and girls.  Participants will include players from all over SoCal's Southern Section and the LA City Section. Players selected must also meet a minimum GPA.  Advance ticket sales will be through the Southern Section Athletic Office, the City Section Athletics office, and at all Warehouse Shoe Sale locations.  Tickets will also be available at the box office at LA Southwest College, which will be the game site.

And if you're interested in attending the banquet where Marlon will make his announcment, which will be held at the Torrance Hilton hotel on April 29, contact Kenneth Miller  at (310) 715-9300.
