Spencer Gloger Getting A Look From UCLA?--(April 27, 1999)

Seems everyone is touting Rancho Santa Margarita's Spencer Gloger (6'-5" Sr. SG/SF) as the next UCLA recruit.  According to Frank Burlison, "UCLA's coaches planned to watch videotape of the Saturday night Orange County All-Star game to evaluate the game's MVP, Spencer Gloger of Santa Margarita High."   Frank also reports that while Gloger originally committed to Princeton last fall, he re-opened his recruiting and has visited Oregon and has a trip planned to St. Louis to visit Lorenzo Romar who was recruiting Spencer at Pepperdine (before he committed to Princeton).  According to Burlison, Spencer's dad (a lawyer, not that there's anything wrong with that :-) ), has reportedly made several calls to Westwood to determine whether the Bruin coaches are interested or not.

And according to Mike Miller, it looks like they are interested:  Spencer "apparently will take an unofficial visit to UCLA in the near future."  Jim Downs first reported Spencer's apparent interest in UCLA on April 22.

Spencer is being recruited by Oregon pretty hard and it should come down to Oregon and St. Louis unless UCLA shows a real interest.
