Westchester's Eric Knight:
Recruiting Update--(April 13, 1999)
Prior to the Rockfish Spring League
Championship game, we had a chance to talk briefly with Eric Knight (6'-2" Sr. PG/SG)
from Westchester, and he filled us in a little on his recruiting. Seems he's being
recruited by Loyola Marymount and Sacramento State, and he'll make a decision about
schools in the next few weeks. Like a lot of guys though, he's just on the border of
qualifying, and it will largely depend on how he does in his final semester grades.
Eric is a great shooting guard, who was playing mostly out of position all season
long after the graduation of Brandon Granville, who led the Comets to the 1997-98 State
Division I Championship. We would assume that if Eric doesn't qualify, that he'll go
the JC route, but we're betting he'll make it. By the way, he also told us that his
brother Billy Knight who plays at UCLA, has no plans, at least for now about transferring
out, and he also said that the rumors of guys leaving the Bruins are just that, rumors.
Erik will also be playing this weekend at the
Dada All-Star Classic at Pauly Pavilion on April 18 in the 3:00 p.m. game for the White
team.
