WSS Hoops Jam: Devrin Anderson
& Rodney Anderson Update--(April 29, 1999)

When we wrote the announcment yesterday about the rosters for the WSS Hoops Jam which will take place this Saturday, we did note that the organizers looked like they had the wrong Anderson listed in each of the two boys games, and that they should have listed Rodney Anderson (6'-1" Sr. PG) of LA Washington in the senior game and not the underclass game, and likewise, we thought that they had made the same error with Devrin Anderson (6'-2" Sr. PG/SG) from Crossroads. Well, it turns out that we were only half right: Rodney Anderson is a senior (he just signed with Cal State Fullerton), but so too is Devrin Anderson. We got an e-mail from Devrin's dad, explaining to us that Devrin is in fact a senior. According to the senior Mr. Anderson:

"He has a 3.4 GPA and is still being recruited by a number of schools. Loyola Marymount, Northeastern University, Rice and Brown, to name the schools that he has the greatest interest in and vice-versa. He continues to hear from schools regarding baseball, even though he opted to focus on Basketball this spring and not play baseball. Thanks for attempting to set the record straight . . . "
