Recruiting USA Reporting Bradley
Jackson
Will Sign With San Diego State--(April 22, 1999)
Recruiting USA is reporting that Bradley Jackson (5'-9" Gr. PG) formerly of Inglewood High School, who most recently attended Bridgton Academy, in North Bridgton, Maine, has committed to, and will sign a national letter of intent with California State University at San Diego (San Diego State), and thus will become the first recruit for the Aztecs during the Steve Fisher era. According to Recruiting USA, Jackson turned down offers from Western Kentucky, Rutgers, and Duquesne, and apparently one of the key factors in his decision was his desire to return to the West Coast and SoCal in particular.
Last year, Jackson had committed to and signed a letter of intent with Cal State Northrdige, but then had a change of heart, and (some say intentionally) when he failed a class and didn't graduate, it enabled him to void his letter of intent. Jackson attended a prep school this past year, and presumably completed his high school curriculum.
Jackson is a very fast, agile point guard, with great ball-handling skills, quick hands, and excellent defensive skills, good court vision and a good shot out to three point range, will be a fine addition to the Aztecs arsenal, and will be a great complement to rising sophomore point guard David Abramowitz, who was injured early in the season and with former coach Trenkle's system (or lack thereof) never really healed or adapted to the offensive scheme at SDSU.
