all san diego team selections for 1999

Apparently the nice lady we spoke with at the San Diego Section CIF office was right, there is another list of "All-CIF San Diego Section" players, created solely by a panel of members of the sports media at the San Diego Hall of Champions. The substantive differences appear to be that the prior list contains players according to CIF Divisions, and the list below is supposed to be the "best" players in San Diego, regardless of Division.

The following list was released on March 20, 1999 (but we have no idea to whom it was actually released other than the San Diego Union Tribune). Since we don't subscribe to the Union-Tribune, we were unaware of it (of the San Diego Hall of Champions, which is something we've got to check on) until we called the SD CIF to get their own All-CIFSDS teams. And we want to thank the nice lady again who alerted us to this list, whoever she was.

SoCalHoops wants to congratulate the players selected by the San Diego Hall of Champions on being named to the 1998-99 CIF San Diego Section Boys Basketball Team. And the San Diego Hall of Champions also named Aaron Abrams as it's Athlete of the Year.

The only question we have after comparing this list with the CIF-SDS list is whether "Nate Sanford" chosen to the first team here is the same guy as "Napoleon Sandeford" chosen by the S.D. CIF office for their First Team Division I team. We suspect it's one and the same, since each one is from Southwest.
