Marlon Parmer: Final Recruiting
Update--
Will Be A Lobo--(April 30, 1999)
Marlon Parmer (6'-3" Sr. PG) from Verbum Dei, appeared tonight live on the John Kentera Show on XTRA 690 Sports radio, and he made his decision, giving a verbal committment to the University of New Mexico.
"It was real tough, because I liked all the coaches, but it came down to what me and my family really wanted," Marlon said.
The deciding factor was coach Fran Fraschilla: "He said I could come in right away and play and work hard. It was a tough decision. I was there this week, and I really didn't want to go, but my father made me go, and I'm glad I did. I just didn't want to go to USC because it was too close to home, and I wanted to go away to school to meet people from outside the area."
"I wanted to be sort of like Andre Miller, he went away and just like him, people didn't start to recruit me until late."
