division i southern regionals

Here are the first round matchups in the Southern Regionals for Division I in the State Championship Tournament. All first round quarterfinal games will take place this coming Tuesday, March 9. All games are played at 7:30 p.m.

The seeded teams are Artesia No1, Mater Dei #2, Manual Arts #3, and Glendora #4. Ok, so if Mater Dei is the No. 2 seeded team, then why are they not the "home team" for game No. 1? We don't know. But they get to take the drive through South Orange County and North San Diego to Bonita Vista for the first game, and Glendora gets to take their big shiny bus to Fresno to play Clovis West. We'll have previews of these games tomorrow. In the meantime, here's the bracket. Note that an asterisk (*) indicates the home team. Remember that whoever wins this bracket, the finals in Division I (both boys & girls) will be in San Diego this year at Cox Arena, along with Division IV (also boys & girls). The other Divisions will be played at The Pyramid at Cal State Long Beach.
