MAJOR UPDATE: CIF SS Playoff
Schedules Revised:--(March 4, 1999)
Seems the CIF just can't stand leaving well enough alone. Yesterday they issued a completely revised boys playoff schedule, and of course, they forgot to tell everyone except the coaches involved. We want to thank Rob Hall of Pasadena Poly for alerting us to this mess. The CIF-SS office now has a taped message available with the corrected schedule. So forget everything we told you before. NOTE: THERE HAVE BEEN SOME MAJOR TIME CHANGES, AND THE ORDER OF GAMES IS NOW DIFFERENT THAN WHAT WAS PREVIOUSLY POSTED BOTH HERE AND AT THE CIF-SS WEBSITE.
Here's the new schedule, as of March 4, 1999.
CIF SOUTHERN SECTION & LA CITY SECTION 1998-99 BOYS BASKETBALL FINALS
Division | Place, Session, Time |

LA "City" Championship: Manual v. Fairfax | Fri., Mar. 5, UCLA Pauley Pavilion, 8:00 p.m. |
Again, Remember, that the LA City Boys' Championships will
be played on Friday night at 8:00 p.m. at Pauley Pavilion, and allowing for travel time,
if you intend to see that game between Manual Arts and Fairfax, you'll now probably have
to forego at least part of Serra v. 29 Palms, and all of Verbum Dei v. Crossroads.
You can still probably catch all of Price v. Antelope Valley and at least part of
Pasadena Poly v. Santa Clara too. And if you want to see the girls City final which
is scheduled for Friday, March 5, at 6:00 p.m. also at Pauley, then you'd better forget
about almost all of the Irvine games given the way traffic is on a Friday up and down the
405.
On Saturday, the LA City Boys' and Girls'
"Division" title games will be held at Loyola Marymount, with the
Girls game at 1:00 p.m. and the Boys' final at 3:00 p.m., so if you want to see those
games, forget about Inglewood v. Mayfair and Dominguez v. Gahr.
And for those of you who think in a linear, real time mode, not by Divsion, who want to plan out where to be and when to be there, here's a chronoligal schedule for the boys' games.
