Get Well Wishes For Mater Dei
Coach Craig Thornburgh--(March 1, 1999)
Several people have inquired about the recent slew of messages on the Message Forum concerning Mater Dei's long time assistant coach Craig Thornburgh. We were also curious about what had happened to him. One of our friends at Mater Dei wrote saying that Craig is currently in a serious battle with cancer. We have no reliable word on Craig's actual condition, but apparently it is very serious.
Craig is a great guy, who has worked 17 long and hard years at Mater Dei helping to make it the successful program it's become. Our best wishes go out to Craig and his family, and like all the folks at Mater Dei, we're pulling for his speedy recovery and return to the team.
We also understand that Coach Thornburgh is in need of "O" Positive blood, so if any of you out there want to donate, contact St. Joseph's Hospital in Orange. Mater Dei is also having a Blood Drive on Thursday, March 4 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. If you are healthy and able to donate blood, now is the time to help a fellow coach out in a time of need.
