SoCalHoops High School News
What Happened To HoopScoop?
Here's The Answer--(March 1, 1999)
Occasionally we visit other folks sites. In fact, we often visit a lot of other sites, and in part, that was a small impetus in putting together SoCalHoops in the first place in what now seems like an eternity ago. One of our favorite sites has always been Clark Francis' HoopScoop. Clark is one of the most diligent guys around, traveling the country, probably barely ekeing out a living, while he touts and promotes, rates and evaluates high school and junior college talent throughout the country. He's been a writer for ESPN, The Sporting News, and USA Today. His site is usually well informed (ok, so he's had some major gaffes, but who hasn't), and it's pretty logically laid out and easy to use.
That is until today (or maybe for a few days prior, we don't know). Today we tried to access the HoopScoop, and all we got was the following message: "Forbidden-- You don't have permission to access / on this server."
Well, here's the answer: We received about 30 e-mails (that's the last time we ask for such help publicly), and here's the answer--Clark's switched to a new server, and a new domain name: HoopScoop Online (http://www.hoopscooponline.com). Guess we'll have to change our bookmarks.
