The Latest SCIBCA Poll: Rankings
Going Into The Playoffs--(Feb. 9, 1999)

The SCIBCA Poll--the Southern California Interscholastic Basketball Coaches Association Poll--colloquially known as the CIF Poll, although it's really not done by the CIF, but it is used by the Southern Section to determine seedings for the playoffs, was issued again this week.  Here's the poll that was released yesterday, February 8, which presumably also includes the games through Saturday, February 6.  But maybe it doesn't because Capo Valley is still listed at No. 3 in the D-IAA rankings, and we all know what happened to them against Artesia. . . well, we all would know if we'd get off our rear ends and write about the game.  Don't worry, the recap of the evening's festivities as the Nike Extravaganza (Artesia v. Capo, Glendora v. Troy, Mater Dei v. Bishop O'Dowd, and Oak Hill v. Dominguez) are all still in the works and should be up by tomorrow.  For now though, be content with the coaches poll.   It's much more immediate, and for those teams ranked or on the bubble, assuming they don't completely blow it in this final week of regular season games, they all should have pretty high seedings come playoff time.  There haven't been a lot of changes from the last poll (which we posted on Friday), but there are some new faces among the D-IV and D-V ranks.  See for yourself:
