Nike Extravaganza Extra: Oak Hill
Player Profiles #3--(Feb. 3, 1999)

Oak Hill, the No. 1 ranked team in the country, and perhaps the best ever high school team we've seen (really, we mean it, seriously) features 12 players on its current roster.  We're going to feature their profiles direct from the Oak Hill 1998-1999 Warrior Basketball Guide, which we picked up from Assistant Coach Sid Finklea at the Reebok Las Vegas Holiday Prep Classic in December.   Three profiles per day for the next four days.  Here's No. 3 in the series, which features profiles for Terry Reynolds, Ron Slay and David Sterrett.

Terry Reynolds (5'-9" Sr. G) -- Terry is one of two returning players form last year's 29-2 team. He led the Warriors in 3-point shooting in 1997-98 with a percentage of 42.5 (51-120).  He made six threes against Hazard High School, Kentucky, and he finished that game with a season high of 30 points. Terry is a tenacious on-the-ball defender using his strength, quickness and agressiveness.  Son of Mr. & Mrs. Terrance Reynolds.

If I started a team the other four players would be: Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Scottie Pippen, Shaquille O'Neal
What I like most about Oak Hill is:
I get to play with and against the best players in teh country.

Ron Slay (6'-7" Sr. F)-- Ron, along with Travis Watson, provides Oak Hill with possibly the best forward tandem in all of high school basketball.   Ron can play every frontcourt position well. He gets off the floor quickly and is an outstanding rebounder. Maybe his best offensive attribute is his ability to pass the basketball. [Actually, it's his dunk].  He will be called upon to score as well. Ron was named a co-captain for the team this year and has signed a National Letter of Intent and will play for Tennessee next year.  He is the son of Ms. Lolita Slay

If I started a team the other four players would be: Shaquille O'Neal, Damon Stoudamire, Michael Jordan, Karl Malone with Scottie Pippen off the bench.

What I like most about Oak Hill is:  Mr. "C" and all the teachers and the coaching staff [Note:  We have no idea who Mr. "C" is].

David Sterritt (6'-7" Sr. F)--Dave is the strongest and most physical player on this year's Warrior squad. He surpassed everyone in preseason strength training workouts. He will provide much needed depth at both the center and power forward positions.  Dave is a 3.2 student who works extremely hard on the court as well as the classroom.  Son of Rev. & Mr. s Clay Sterrett.
