Lower Bracket

Pacific Hills 78, Lucerne Valley 27--We already posted the details (such as they were) from this game on Tuesday night.  Pacific Hills will now meet St. Anthony in the Quarterfinal game on Friday night .

St. Anthony 65, Valley Torah 47-- Edward Gerov had 22 points for Valley Torah, but the Wolfpack (19-3) had a 14-game winning streak snapped in a Division V-AA game at Montclair Prep. The Saints used 20 points and seven rebounds from junior forward Jared Lloyd and 15 points and five assists from junior guard A.J. Diggs in a second-round win over the Wolfpack at Montclair Prep High. St. Anthony, which led the whole game, jumped out to a 20-4 lead behind Lloyd and Diggs, who combined for 12 points. Pearson Smith also had 10 points and nine rebounds for the Saints, who improved to 22-6 with the win. St. Anthony will now play Pacific Hills on Friday in the quarterfinals.   Complete scoring for St. Anthony was Lloyd 20, Diggs 15, Smith 10, Sakamoto 4, Holder 9, Aquino 2, Arizabal 3, and Rowe 2.  Valley Torah's complete scoring was Gerov 22, Greenfield 4, Ishakov 3, Malkin 4, Rubenstein 2, Smike 3, Suffin 2, Wachsman 7.

Ryan Maier added 11 points and John Tiberi tallied 10 as Chadwick advances to play Santa Clara on Friday in a rematch of last year's semifinals match won by Santa Clara in a tight 58-53 match. Santa Clara 62, Faith Baptist 38-- Santa Clara (23-3) used a 22-4 second-quarter run to turn a 10-9 deficit into a 31-20 halftime lead en route to a 62-38 in a CIF-Southern Section Division V-AA second-round playoff win Tuesday at Faith Baptist.  As usual, it was Santa Clara's Division I-bound duo doing the damage. Nick Jones scored eight of his game-high 24 points within the run, and B.J. Ward pumped in six of his 23 points.  It wasn't a case of the Saints looking past an early-round opponent as much as it was a lack of ball control that hindered Santa Clara in the first half. Six Faith Baptist (18-8) points came off of Santa Clara turnovers.  Santa Clara held Faith Baptist to just 18 points in the second half.  Santa Clara's complete scoring was M. Angell 2, Camper 2, Dotsy 1, B.J. Ward 27, Nick Jones 20 and 11 rebounds, Madrigal 2, J. Angell 2, and Hall 6.  Faith Baptist's scoring was Lonnie Clayton with 6, Jeremy Lopez 16, Stefan Grasu 6 and 7 blocked shots, Bautista 2, Johnson 4, and Labins 4. Santa Clara will travel to Chadwick for the semifinal round on Friday night agaisnt Chadwick.
