Where's Waldo IV:  More Division Stuff,
D-IV Southern Section Pool List--(Jan. 26, 1999)

If you thought Division III was small, then D-IV should be a little more to your liking.  Slightly bigger, but with smaller, only slightly smaller enrollment schools.  Candidly, it looks to us like D-III and D-IV really could (notice we didn't say "should") be combined into a single division, which would then be on a par with D-I, D-II and D-V (which actually has the most schools and therefore, is probably one of the toughest to make it through playoffs).

D-IV in Southern Section consists of schools with student enrollments of 301 to 749 in 10th through 12th grades.  D-IVAA is for school from 500 to 749, and D-IVA has those below 500 to 301.  Interestingly, Serra, which is also listed in the D-III list as having moved up from D-VAA is also listed on the D-IVAA section list.  We're not sure where they're really going to be playing, and now we're really confused, but one thing is pretty certain, and that's that Serra will not be playing in D-V.

In D-IVAA we'd have to say that there are some pretty tough teams, including Compton Centennial with Marquis Poole, Crespi, La Salle, St. Bernard and St. Paul, not to mention Cerritos Valley Christian, and some other teams from the high desert area we haven't seen this year.

In D-IVA, Crossroads and Verbum Dei would have to be the two big favorites, and we'd give the edge to Verb right now; others who will contend will be. . . well, we're not sure.  See for yourself.

Here's the list for D-IV
